Have you ever gone out of your way to find a perfect lookout point during a rain and thunder storm, only so that you can go dance in it?
If not, I highly recommend it. There are few more effective natural highs in the world. And of course, we were at my favorite place on planet earth. I mean, look at these pictures, and the beauty of this building alone is enough...
It is beautiful, the view is fantastic... and there is no greater peace found in any place on earth than there is inside or on the grounds of this building and others like it. Even when you're dancing like crazy and rolling around in gutters, with rain drops as big as ping pong balls and lightning flashing everywhere. Peaceful, safe, calm, and happy.
To say that we were soaking wet within five minutes would be an understatement.
It's surprising how many people you run into at the most random of times and places. We made new friends up there with other people doing the same thing, I ran into old high school friends... a lot of people are on the same wavelength when thunder starts rolling.
That is not a good picture of me, but it is a good representation of the dampness that occurred on that evening.
You guys, I love my life.
Draper Temple. I love it, I go every chance I get, and someday I will get married there. I watched it being built from the ground up, and consider it my second home. It is my own personal castle on the hill. If you've never been to one, I highly recommend it. If you don't live anywhere near me, find one by your house and just bask in the peace there. And then tell me all about it, because I love stories. :)
Ok, back to work again...

What beautiful pictures you took! And i am so happy you already love the temple so much. And i also love you have such a connection to the Draper temple, specifically. I definately need to go play in the rain more often! How did you keep your camera from getting drenched?! Tricky business.
Take care!
Ha ha, I was actually holding a baseball cap over it the entire time! I was so afraid for my camera's life, it was ridiculous. :)
That looks like just what I could have used yesterday! Love that temple!
If you think the outside is gorgeous (which it is, I'll be stealing those pictures) then wait until you are in the sealing room on your wedding day. There isn't a place more beautiful than that. ;) Good choice of temple.
Oakland temple is mine, and it's on a hill and very beautiful.
=)

Wow! That was a nice soaking. Love the photos.
That is awesome. I am energized just reading this.
Keep enjoying life. You're doing it all right.

It does look like a very peaceful building. Living in a very rural and remote area, we have nothing like that anywhere near here.
And living in a drought stricken country, we don't even have thunderstorms at the moment.
You're making me want things I can't have.
i love your life, too!
have yet to see a bad picture of you--just flash that Hollywood smile of yours, and they're good every time.
now, excuse me while i steal that awesome lit temple image you shot.
thank you, very much. ;)
The pictures of the sky look amazing!!!
while mostly fun, one cannot assume lighting won't strike... do have fun in a storm, but best to be indoors during tunderboomers!
some great photos of some very soggy friends! you are right, there is something about the rain/storms that can transform us into children in a moment..
those are some beautiful and awesome pics.
the most fun I have had in the rain was playing basketball with a friend when I was in my teens.
