Best Job in the World

Think of the coolest job ever.

What are you thinking of? Professional ice cream taster? Video game designer? Professional shopper? Maybe even getting paid to do absolutely nothing? How about something made up, like giraffe rider or moon decorator?

Well I'm sure they are fascinating and all, but please step aside. I have found the best job in the whole entire world.

I present to you: The EFY Counselor.

Was it hard work? Yes. You don't get a lot of sleep, you walk constantly, you have to keep track of schedules, and you have to count people's heads a lot.

Was it amazing? VERY yes. I met some of the best kids in the world. I worked with them for a week. I watched them grow close and strong. I watched the light in their eyes grow brighter on a daily basis. I went to dances, had pizza parties, attended amazingly edifying classes and firesides and devotionals, and made great friends with a bunch of people who had the same taste in shirts as I did.

I got to sing on a stage in front of hundreds of people. I laughed constantly at the antics of goofy boys, involving everything from modeling walk-offs to vivacious apple-gifting. I watched these kids begin to share their amazing talents and stories; unique personalities and heartfelt feelings. I came to know and love a group of girls who had gathered together from all over the area, and I got to teach and bear testimony of the things that I know. I got to dedicate a week of my life to the edification of these youth, and I still pray for them, hoping that they have taken something with them.

I saw miracles happen in the lives of these youth. I couldn't contain my gratitude all week at my opportunity to be there. Not only was it fun, but it has helped define me as a person. It changed my life.

Can I wait to go back again? NO!

Really gives you hope for the rising generation. EFY councilor will probably be the funnest job you ever have too.

wow! I still think you are the perfect person for that. I bet your group loved you. I love how your testimony just shines from you. Your mama taught you girls well! It looks like you had a bunch of red heads in your group - to go along with yours!! :)

Okay. That does look cool and like a bit of fun.. but I was just reading a blog about someone who has decided to become a cupcake connoisseur, and I think as far as cool jobs go that would be hard to beat.
