Defying the Elements

Sorry I haven't been around for about a week! I was probably catching up on sleep from that last post, or something like that.

So I love being one of those young insane people. I definitely prefer insanity in comparison to logic and reason. As such, if I've sat at home and not done much for most of the day other than a few errands and necessities, I will start going out of my mind. Then, suddenly, something crazy happens. Something like what my friends and I did at about 11:00 on Monday night.

For those of you who live in the Salt Lake area, you know that it has been raining like no other lately. You also know that it tends to get dark when the sun goes down. Given the circumstances, the plans with my friends were originally to go to a movie. When the motivation behind that idea waned, we did what any other sane person would do, and decided to hike up a muddy mountain in the dark. It was quite possibly the best thing ever.

PS, for my new readers who don't know who I am, I'm the redhead girl with either the gray shirt or the white coat, depending on the pic. Did I in fact put on a white coat to hike a mountain in the rain? Yes, good sir, I did indeed do that.

It was surprisingly the perfect weather for hiking. It wasn't too hot, the rain was pretty light, and nature is always way more exciting in the darkness. Plus Steph had one of those flashlights you can strap onto your head. Fashion statement of the year, people.

Of course, we're Mormon, so we had to start taking feigned engagement shots. It goes without saying.

Then we just kinda started posing and taking candid shots. I love having friends that aren't camera shy.

Then, the guys wanted to show of how strong they were. These aren't fake at all.

Group shot! These are hard, because you have to set up an auto timer, and I had to prop my camera up on a tree branch. Since I love my camera more than life itself, and it falling and breaking would be a tragedy, this was quite a feat.

And then we walked back.

And then we saw deer, so we decided to attempt dwelling among them. It didn't work as well as we hoped.

I make a very, very convincing deer. Like even more convincing than actual deer. I could never pull that face on hunting grounds, or I would probably be killed and mounted on someone's wall.

And then it was about midnight, so we went home, and I was very tired the next day. The end.

Hope ya'll liked the pictures, even though there are a freaking ton of them. I love them all, and really couldn't pick and choose. Not too bad for it being pitch black outside and relying completely on my flash and a few sparse flashlights.

I have multiple ideas for future crazy. Things like dressing up in formal ball gowns and having a tea party at the park, or buying weird clothes at the DI to go swimming in. These would both be wonderful. We'll see how much actually gets to happen. :)

PS: my last post, for the first time in my 4 year blogging life, reached in the double digits for comments. How awesome is this blogging thing you guys? Pretty dang awesome, I do declare.

Ha, oh I would most definitely use old gowns, cause I'm definitely poor - but I'm thinking I have to organize that sometime!!

I love it, and I love the fact that you had 2 cute boy friends along with you. That was a MUCH better choice than the movie.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Robyn
